Who We Are

THE BUSINESS

We love riding bikes with people. Whether you want to go fast, slow or somewhere in between; trails, gravel, road, or the neighborhood; we are here for it. Our goal is to help you find the right bike for whatever riding you want to do.

We carry bikes from Scott, Norco, and Jamis as well as a full range of accessories and gear for however you are using your bike. Our service department works on all makes/models of bikes. We’re happy to help with everything from a quick flat repair to custom builds from a bare frame.

THE PEOPLE

When we say we are a family-run business it’s not just for the aesthetic. Aaron and Lynnea Schutter bought the business in 2019. Bob Schutter (dad) started wrenching full time in 2010, after a lifetime as a backyard mechanic. And Sarah (sister) has worked at the shop in some way since 2008.

MSBC has brought great people together who are excited about bikes. Our employees are all cyclists and we love getting together to ride outside of work. We’re involved in a variety of events and races throughout the year and are excited to bring others into the cycling community!

THE BUILDING

Our historic building is part of the character of MSBC. We don’t know the exact date that the building was built but the best we can figure out, it is around 100 years old. Over the life of the building it has been a clock factory, a general store, and at one point there was a bowling alley upstairs!

Zeeland Schwinn moved in to 201 E. Main in 1972 and transitioned to Main Street Bicycle Co in 2013. The brick walls, wood floors, and stamped tin ceilings are all original to the building but spent about 40 years hidden behind carpet, drywall, and a drop ceiling. We brought it all back to life in 2014 with a major renovation and restoration project. The mural was painted in 2024 by Krista Arendsen in partnership with the City of Zeeland.

The Trend Clock iteration of the building. Notice that the door is on the west/left side of the facade; currently it’s on the east side. Also pretty much all of those bricks are gone from the lower half of the facade.
